The wine-growing community of Udenheim has been documented for the first time in 773 in a register of the cloister of Lorsch. Today there are 1.362 people living here.

Udenheim is famous for its evangelic church on the mount, which guards the village like a “nave in a sea of vines”. Its Roman western steeple dates from the 12 th century and the late Gothic chorus was built around 1500.

The detached bell tower of the Lutheran community which was built in 1875 lies in the middle of the village. It is worthwhile visiting as well as the Palm stone – a heathen cult symbol.

A kindergarten, a bank and shops as well as a multi-purpose hall contribute to the well developed infrastructure of Udenheim.

At the third weekend in September Udenheim celebrates its kermis.
